Inspired by the many grassroots voices that have stepped forward to defend our common values, Hector is running for Congress because he believes that now more than ever, we need leaders who will stand up for everyone in our community – instead of catering to the special interests that rigged the system against ordinary people in the first place.
At a time when the nation has never been more divided — and economic opportunity is increasingly out of reach for Arizona families – Hector is fighting to empower the communities he grew up in by improving public education, encouraging economic growth, ensuring access to quality health care for all, and protecting our civil rights and liberties.
Hector’s journey taught him about the importance of hard work, the impact of a quality education, and that the best path forward is often facing our toughest challenges head on – but from his beginnings as the son of a immigrants to advocating for marginalized communities at the Federal Level and helping develop a college-to-workforce pipeline as an Education Specialist for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Hector truly believes that his story reflects less what is special about him and more about what makes our country special. Hector will take these values and life experiences to Capitol Hill – and get Washington back to working for our community.
Hector and his family live in Mesa.
